About the OpportunityAn established North Carolina manufacturer of advanced CNC machinery is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to help develop high-performance industrial equipment used by manufacturers across multiple industries.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing complex mechanical systems, solving real-world engineering challenges, and working closely with the people who build the equipment.
What You'll DoDesign and develop industrial CNC machinery, mechanical assemblies, and fabricated components.Create detailed 3D models, production drawings, assembly documentation, and BOMs.Engineer mechanical systems involving motors, gearing, brakes, clutches, and moving mechanisms.Apply design-for-manufacturing principles to improve reliability, performance, and production efficiency.Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and other departments to develop and troubleshoot equipment.
What We're Looking For3+ years of mechanical design experience in industrial machinery, capital equipment, or fabricated metal products.Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably Autodesk Inventor.Experience designing mechanical assemblies, machine components, and fabricated structures.Understanding of machining, sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing processes, and mechanical drive systems.Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
