Patient Account Representative

Job Description

Job Summary: Reporting to the Patient Accounts Team Lead, the Patient Account Representative is responsible for resolving inbound patient inquiries related to billing in a multi-channel Contact Center Environment. Expected Pay Range: $20 - 22/hour Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor multi-channel inbound patient billing inquires to ensure timely response and accurate resolutions
  • Work with patients and insurance carriers to resolve patient billing inquiries
  • Responsible for maintaining individual and departmental goals including
  • Average Handle Time, Service Level, Abandonment Rate, Call Quality, and others
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information with a full understanding of HIPAA requirements
  • Demonstrates flexibility to meet the needs of all internal and external customers including changes to workflows, work volume and work schedules
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years in a healthcare environment required, preferably in billing, front office administration or call center
  • Ability to read and understand insurance EOBs
  • Must possess strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to multi-task while maintaining the highest-level of quality in every patient interaction
  • High School diploma or GED required
Working Conditions:
  • Standard office environment with occasional travel to corporate or office locations.
  • Potential exposure to stressful situations and emergency scenarios.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for 3-4 hours at a time
  • Fine finger coordination required for typing
  • Ability to speak clearly with team members so others can understand.
  • Ability to hear and understand others when speaking
  • Ability to view computer screen monitor, small objects few feet away
