Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – PM Shift Roseville Care Center Employment Type: Full-Time & Part-Time Shift: PM Shift Pay: Starting at $22.60/hour DOE Join Our Team! Roseville Care Center is looking for compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our nursing team on the PM shift. General Purpose The primary purpose of the CNA position is to provide each assigned resident with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, facility policies and procedures, and direction from nursing supervisors. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful, and individualized care to residents.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Assist with lifting, turning, repositioning, transferring, and transporting residents using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Answer resident call lights promptly and routinely check residents to ensure their needs are being met.
- Measure and record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other information as directed.
- Observe residents for changes in condition, skin integrity, behavior, eating habits, or other concerns and promptly report changes to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
- Assist residents with meals and accurately record food and fluid intake.
- Provide appropriate after-meal care.
- Keep resident rooms, beds, linens, and personal areas clean, safe, and comfortable.
- Assist residents with admission, transfers, room changes, and discharge activities.
- Assist residents in preparing for medical appointments, laboratory work, therapy, dental care, and other examinations.
- Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed and within the scope of training and certification.
- Follow established infection control, bloodborne pathogen, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Use only equipment and perform only procedures for which you have been properly trained.
- Report defective equipment, accidents, incidents, injuries, and occupational exposures according to facility policy.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and informative documentation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of resident information and protected health information (PHI).
- Report suspected or known resident abuse, neglect, misappropriation of resident property, unauthorized disclosure of information, or other violations immediately.
- Honor resident rights, including a resident’s right to refuse treatment, and report refusals to the appropriate supervisor.
- Participate in shift report and communicate effectively with nursing and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain a calm, positive, respectful, and welcoming environment for residents.
- Follow assigned work schedules and assignments and cooperate with all facility departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Minimum of a 10th-grade education.
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
- Must possess a current California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Must meet all applicable California requirements for employment as a CNA.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions, care plans, policies, procedures, and safety information.
- Ability to accurately document resident care and communicate changes in condition.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a healthcare team.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, compassion, professionalism, and respect toward residents.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond appropriately to changing resident needs.
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and communicate throughout the workday.
- Assist with lifting, transferring, repositioning, and transporting residents.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Use resident-care equipment safely and appropriately.
- Assist with emergency evacuation procedures when necessary.
