The Head of Advisory - Tax and Accounting role is a remote position with occasional travel. This is a client direct hire position.
Head of Advisory - Tax and Accounting ResponsibilitiesLead the growth and overall performance of the tax and accounting practice, including revenue, profitability, client retention, and operational effectiveness.Develop and execute business strategies that support expansion and long-term organizational goals.Oversee the integration of acquired practices, aligning teams, processes, service standards, and organizational culture.Identify opportunities to improve workflows, standardize service delivery, and build scalable operating processes.Establish performance metrics and accountability measures to improve productivity, service quality, and business results.Recruit, develop, and lead a strong management team across tax, accounting, bookkeeping, and operations.Build a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, client service, and continuous improvement.Strengthen relationships with clients, business partners, and leaders across related service lines to support retention and business development.Identify opportunities to expand client relationships, increase referrals, and grow services across the organization.Provide executive oversight of tax planning, compliance, technical quality, and risk management while empowering technical teams to manage day-to-day delivery.Partner with other business leaders to improve service delivery, implement technology, and support continued growth.Guide teams through organizational change, acquisitions, and business expansion.
Head of Advisory - Tax and Accounting RequirementsActive CPA credential required, with prior tax experience.12+ years of progressive leadership experience in tax, accounting, wealth management, or a related professional services environment.Experience leading a regional, national, or multi-location practice with responsibility for revenue, profitability, and overall business performance.Demonstrated success building and expanding a practice through organic growth, acquisitions, or both.Experience leading operational improvements, integrating acquired businesses, and developing scalable processes.Strong executive presence and the ability to build trust and influence senior leaders, clients, and cross-functional teams.Proven ability to develop leaders, improve team performance, and manage organizational change.Commercial mindset with experience driving client retention, business development, and account growth.High standards of integrity, professional ethics, regulatory compliance, and client service.Advanced degree in Taxation, Law, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.Experience serving physicians, dentists, medical groups, or high-net-worth clients preferred.Experience in a private equity-backed, rapidly growing, or acquisition-focused organization preferred.Familiarity with complex business structures and technology-enabled service delivery preferred.
