The RoleYou'll own performance and reliability across a serious HPC estate - job scheduling, storage, networking, hardware - for a firm where milliseconds and research throughput actually move the P&L. This isn't ticket based sysadmin work. You're root-causing, automating, and owning infra end-to-end across research, trading, and enterprise environments.
What you'll touch:SLURM job scheduling + workload tuning at scaleParallel file systems (Lustre / GPFS) + high-perf storage (DDN, Weka, VAST, NetApp, SpectrumScale)InfiniBand + high-speed EthernetBare metal provisioning (PXE, DHCP, DNS) + config mgmt (Ansible, Salt, Terraform, xCAT)Exchange connectivity upgrades + hardware refresh cycles - real vendor-facing ownership, not just internal tickets
What gets you through the door:5+ years HPC sysadmin/architecture - RHEL/CentOS/RockySLURM/Moab/Torque experiencePython scripting fluencyComfortable being the technical face to external vendors and exchanges, not just internal xzbcwsv IT
