Licensed by the Directorate General of Shipping (RPSL) and certified under ISO 9001:2015, MLC 2006, we place seafarers across a wide range of vessel types globally for our international clients. We are a professionally run, growing organisation looking for a reliable and organised individual to join our business development team.

Job description

Sales Assistant to support outreach and business development to global shipowners, ship managers, and shipping companies, promoting Asia Group's crewing services.

Experience required

0–3 Years. Freshers will also be considered if they can show part-time/intern work experience.

Salary:

₹ 2.4 to 3.2 Lakhs per year

Please apply only if you accept salary level mentioned.

Location:

Mumbai (Colaba)

Key Responsibilities

PROSPECTING & DATA RESEARCH

  • Research and identify potential global clients — shipowners, ship managers, and operators across vessel types and regions — using online databases, maritime directories, and industry platforms
  • Find and verify contact details of relevant decision-makers (owners, fleet managers, crewing/HR managers, technical managers)
  • Build and organise prospect lists segmented by region, vessel type, fleet size, and client category

CRM & DATA MANAGEMENT

  • Create and maintain accurate prospect and client records in the CRM/sales software
  • Log all outreach activity, responses, and follow-ups against each contact/account
  • Keep data clean and current — remove duplicates, update contact changes, and flag inactive leads
  • Track pipeline status and generate simple outreach/activity reports when required

OUTREACH

  • Send personalised outreach emails introducing Asia Group's crewing services to prospective clients
  • Send LinkedIn connection requests and follow-up messages to relevant decision-makers
  • Use sales engagement software, including AI-powered sales engagement tools, to manage outreach sequences and track open/response rates
  • Follow up consistently on unanswered outreach to move prospects through the pipeline

PROPOSALS & MEETING COORDINATION

  • Assist in preparing company profiles, capability decks, and proposals tailored to prospective clients
  • Schedule calls and meetings between interested prospects and the Senior Manager/Director
  • Coordinate meeting logistics — calendar invites, follow-up materials, and reminders
  • Maintain a tracker of scheduled meetings, outcomes, and next steps

CLIENT COMMUNICATION

  • Respond to initial client queries and route them appropriately
  • Participate in client calls and meetings under the guidance of the Senior Manager/Director, taking notes and tracking action points
  • Support follow-up communication with clients post-meeting as directed

GENERAL SUPPORT

  • Stay updated on maritime industry news, target companies, and market trends relevant to business development
  • Support the Senior Manager/Director with any other sales and BD administrative tasks as required

Candidate Profile

  • Graduate in any stream; a degree in Business, Marketing, or Maritime Management is a plus
  • 0–3 years of experience; freshers are welcome to apply
  • Strong written and spoken English — you will be communicating with international clients directly
  • Comfortable working on a computer — MS Office, email, spreadsheets, and web-based platforms; prior exposure to any CRM or sales engagement tool is a bonus
  • Comfortable using AI tools for research, drafting, and summarising — or willing to learn quickly
  • Able to use AI output as a starting point, not a final answer — checks facts, names, and figures before sending anything to a client
  • Confident and professional communication style, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail — accuracy in prospect data and CRM records is critical to this role
  • Organised and able to manage multiple prospects, follow-ups, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn sales processes and take initiative on outreach
  • Prior exposure to maritime, shipping, or B2B sales is an advantage but not mandatory
  • Mumbai-based candidates preferred; must be able to commute to Colaba office daily

What We Offer

  • Structured training and mentoring — full SOPs and sales playbook provided from day one
  • Direct exposure to international business development, working with shipowners and managers across Europe, Middle East, Asia etc.
  • Hands-on learning in CRM tools, sales engagement platforms, and proposal-building
  • Work with a certified, established company with 30+ years experience — RPSL licensed, ISO 9001:2015, MLC 2006 compliant
  • Growth opportunity within business development and sales, with a path toward more direct client ownership over time
