Job Description

About BetterBrain BetterBrain is pioneering a movement to make evidence-informed brain health accessible to everyone on earth. We bring together advances in longevity science and AI to help people protect their brains, think better, feel better, and live longer, fuller lives. Our mission is personal, shaped by experiences with dementia in our families. We're working toward a world in which people can preserve their memory, independence, relationships, and ability to do the things they love throughout their lives. We believe the convergence of longevity science and AI can transform human healthspan and create a new generation of health and longevity businesses. BetterBrain combines advanced diagnostics, personalized coaching, clinical care, and technology to turn that possibility into practical help for real people. We recently completed a substantial round of funding and have enough capital for at least two years. We've spent two years building what we think is the best health optimization platform on earth, and we're growing 20x year over year. We are an AI-native company. AI is central to both the products we build and how we work every day. We're building a system for personalized, whole-person health, anchored in the brain, and developing several connected businesses around it: Consumer health and care: assessments, diagnostics, personalized plans, coaching, and clinical services that help people understand and improve their health. AI and technology: BeBe, our health intelligence platform, and tools that help people and professionals turn complex information into useful decisions and action. Products and commerce: supplements, curated products, and services that help customers put their plans into practice. Institutional growth: employer programs and partnerships with healthcare providers, payers, and other organizations that can bring BetterBrain to more people. New business development: emerging opportunities in platform licensing, research, professional education, and certification. Why this role matters We've built a system that turns hundreds of health data points into a personal plan, delivered through our web and mobile app, our AI (BeBe), coaching, and clinical care. People come to us in many different ways, and we want each of them to land in an experience that is simple, consistent, and makes it clear what to do next. This role helps shape that experience: how it works, how it feels as one product, and how quickly great ideas reach clients. With AI, building is no longer our bottleneck. Our engineers and coding agents ship many changes a week. The bottleneck is taste and judgment: knowing what to build, what to leave out, and what great looks like. That is why we are open to an exceptional designer who thinks like a product manager, or an exceptional product manager with real design craft. Responsibilities 1. Lead the core client experience You help shape how clients get started, understand their results and plan, and keep coming back. For example: Simplify onboarding so it works for every way people join us, whether directly, or through an employer or partner. Turn a complex health system into an experience that feels simple, without losing what matters underneath. Create one unified, consistent experience for clients on different programs, paths and goals, including how BeBe, our AI, shows up. Pick the few numbers that tell us whether it works and move them. 2. Turn client input into decisions, and ship well You make sure we learn from clients continuously and launch changes with care. For example: Talk to clients directly through interviews and usability sessions, and use AI-moderated tools so research scales without a large team. Use what we already hear from clients (coaching sessions, BeBe conversations, messages, session replays) to spot the biggest opportunities, then build the solutions. Design, build, and push changes to production yourself, working alongside our engineers and coding agents. Run launches through our rollout process: testing with coaches and clients, coach readiness, launch comms, measurement, and clear criteria to roll back. Who you'll work with You'll work closely with the co-founders, product/engineering, and our growth team. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has designed and shipped consumer products that people love and use again and again. We care about what you have built and your slope of growth, not how many years you have done something. Experience in health or healthcare is ideal, but not required. Strong candidates come from one of two backgrounds. Profile A: Product designer who thinks like a PM You are an exceptional product designer who has owned an experience end to end, not just the screens. You have led the design of a consumer product or core flow from early stage to real scale, and can point to the metrics it moved. You have built or rebuilt a design system and got a team to actually use it. You have shaped what got built, not only how it looked: you defined the problem, made tradeoffs and sequenced the work. You stood out as a top performer: fast promotions, expanding scope, and people who would hire you again. Profile B: Product manager with real design craft You are a top product manager who also has strong taste and hands-on design skill. You have shipped consumer products that clients love and that moved engagement, retention or revenue. You design and prototype yourself, and can show us work you made, not only work you managed. You have turned a complex system into a simple experience without losing what matters underneath. You stood out as a top performer: fast promotions, expanding scope, and people who would hire you again. Skills you let data and client feedback guide decisions. Nice to Have Experience in health or healthcare. Experience with health data visualization, behavior change or habit design. Experience designing AI or conversational interfaces. Evidence of Fit (across both profiles) A portfolio or links to things you have designed or built. Strong performance reviews from prior employers. Multiple references from respected leaders or mentors who can speak to your judgment, ownership and character. How we work and live We work intensely, and we have a blast. Expect long days, rapidly evolving priorities, and close collaboration with the founders. The standards are high, the problems are difficult, and the commitment of time and energy is substantial. Our working life also includes mountains, oceans, bikes, and adventure. Ideas get debated on hikes and by the water. We laugh, explore, and enjoy the people we're building with. Helping people live fully is central to BetterBrain, and we want that spirit in the experience of building it. Why join BetterBrain Shape the experience at the center of the company, with real autonomy and direct access to the founders. Participate in the most exciting health disruption of our generation (longevity science and AI). Be part of a mission-driven team tackling what we see as the #1 health problem in the world. Work at an AI-native company on the cutting edge of how products get designed and built. Join a company that has grown 20x year over year, at an inflection point. Competitive compensation including base salary, performance incentives, and equity. Our values Lead with empathy – We are privileged to be entrusted by people with their most important organ. When faced with a difficult decision, we always do what's best for people's lives. Challenge the status quo – Our healthcare system is broken; we must challenge/forget everything we've learned. By taking a beginner's mindset, we will rebuild a system in a way that actually works. Relentlessly pursue excellence – Solving Alzheimer's may be one of the most difficult challenges of our time. This means charging fast at hard problems and not stopping until we achieve our very high bar. Stay curious, stay humble – The field of brain health is moving at an incredible pace. We are quick to admit when we don't know something and we continuously update our perspective as the science evolves. How to apply Please submit your résumé and a portfolio, or links to two or three things you designed or built and what you contributed to each. The following are optional but highly beneficial : A recent performance review where disclosure is permitted by your employer or former employer; please redact confidential business, medical or other personal information unrelated to job performance. An indication of potential professional references. Names and contact details are not needed at this stage. For each potential reference, please share their position or title and their company, or the type of company if you prefer not to name it. If you want to shape the experience that millions of people could use to protect their brains, we'd love to meet you.
