Role Description

The Mechanical Designer role at Hitech Steel Industries is a full-time, on-site position based in Lahore. The Mechanical Designer is responsible for developing detailed technical drawings and 3D models for fencing products and related mechanical systems using CAD tools, ensuring designs meet safety, performance, and manufacturing standards. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with engineering and production teams, refining machine and product designs, preparing documentation, and supporting prototyping and testing activities. The role also involves participating in research and development initiatives, optimizing existing designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and ensuring alignment with customer specifications and industry regulations.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design, with the ability to translate functional requirements into practical, manufacturable solutions.
• Proficiency in Technical Drawing and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for creating accurate 2D and 3D models, assemblies, and detailed fabrication drawings.
• Experience in Research and Development (R&D), including evaluating new materials, design concepts, and manufacturing methods to improve product performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in mechanical design and manufacturing.
• Knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes, metal fabrication, and standards relevant to fencing or structural products.
• Ability to work on-site in Lahore, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple design tasks with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; familiarity with quality and safety standards is an advantage.
