Job Title: DDR Memory Validation Engineer

Experience: 5-12 Years

Location: Bangalore

Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced DDR Memory Validation Engineer to drive functional validation, margin testing, and post-silicon debugging of DDR subsystems on next-generation platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR4/LPDDR5 technologies , validation methodologies, Python-based automation, and hardware debugging tools.

The role involves working closely with silicon, BIOS, firmware, and platform teams to ensure robust feature validation, root-cause complex issues, and drive product quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute validation plans for DDR controller and memory subsystem features.
• Define and implement validation strategies for RAS (Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability) features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Silicon, BIOS, Firmware, and Platform Engineering teams.
• Perform functional, stress, and margin testing on DDR and other HSIO interfaces.
• Drive post-silicon bring-up, validation, and debugging activities.
• Root-cause system-level and silicon-level issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop Python-based automation frameworks, validation scripts, and debug utilities.
• Analyze test results, identify performance and functional bottlenecks, and provide detailed debug reports.
• Execute validation using industry-standard lab equipment and hardware analyzers.
• Support multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Required Skills

Memory & Validation

• Strong understanding of basic electronics and digital systems.
• Hands-on experience with:DDR4
• DDR5
• LPDDR4
• LPDDR5
• Expertise in DDR functional validation and margin testing.
• Experience validating high-speed interfaces (HSIO).

Automation & Programming

• Strong Python scripting and automation experience (Mandatory).
• Experience creating test content, automation frameworks, and debug scripts.
• Knowledge of C/C++ is an added advantage.

Hardware Debug & Lab Experience

• Hands-on experience with:JTAG
• I2C
• Logic/Protocol Analyzers
• Oscilloscopes
• Multimeters
• Power Supplies
• Thermal Equipment
• Ability to read and interpret:Schematics
• Board layouts
• Signal integrity reports

Debugging & System Validation

• Experience in post-silicon validation and debug.
• Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently drive tasks with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with x86-based platforms and processors.
• Knowledge of Server Platforms and Architecture.
• Experience validating RAS features.
• Exposure to PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and other high-speed interfaces.
• Understanding of platform firmware and BIOS interactions.
• Familiarity with memory training and tuning concepts.
• Experience with automation-driven validation environments.
