Overview
Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider to join a very busy Neurosurgical practice at Piedmont Athens Hospital. Responsibilities
- Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patients medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
- Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
- Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries, noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
- Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
- Complete pre-op and post-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising Physicians to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
- Collaborate with supervising physician to ensure quality of care
- Work closely with nurses to triage patient needs and referral coordinators to ensure proper scheduling
- Rotate weeknight, weekend, and holiday call with the other APPs. Take call with Physician.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Masters in Nursing Required or
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board Required
Work Experience
- 1+ years of Neurosurgical experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- PA - Physician Assistant Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia. Updated NCCPA for PAs Upon Hire Required or
- ACNP - Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP, FNP, WHNP) Upon Hire Required
