Electrical Designer

We're hiring an Electrical Designer for a growing operation in Tampa, FL. This role is responsible for creating detailed electrical design and construction drawings, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment layout drawings for a variety of projects.

The ideal candidate will develop designs using both manual and computer-aided drafting tools while ensuring all drawings and supporting documentation comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and customer specifications. This position plays a key role in supporting engineering and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Must Haves:

• 1-2 year of electrical engineering experience
• Education: An engineering degree (preferable Electrical Engineering)
• Prior experience in service area work (engineers in other fields)
• Comfortable talking with customers/ clients
• Knowledge of electrical distribution design principles in both overhead and underground applications
• AutoCAD
• Blue Beam
• GIS work experience

Plusses:

• GIS work experience for an Electric company's internal data systems
• Companies like Duke & Florida Line Company
• 1-2 year of distribution design experience

Day to Day:

• Drafts detailed drawings, such as wiring diagrams and layout drawings for construction projects.
• Evaluating design work and supporting documents to verify compliance to industry codes and customer specific specifications and standards.
• Some field work not on daily basis just when your given a project
• 60% office 40% field
• Work with supervisory team to design projects
• Utilize utility standards
• Meeting with customers for projects
