POSITION SUMMARYTool Maker is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairing a variety of molds and fixtures. Additional tasks involve providing support for tool room equipment operations and use of 2D/3D mold files on the computer. CNC responsibilities include: Programming/ Operating CNC machine as required.
COMPENSATION$28.00-$32.00 per hour
HOURS1st Shift
RESPONSIBILITIESRepair molds as needed, repair or build jigs and fixtures as required. Inspects completed molds for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect the molds functionality. Read and understand blueprints and CAD files. Operate a Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, and surface grinder.Uses computer-aided design (CAD/CAM) software to create designs and/or turn designs into blueprints as required.Keep all shop machinery clean, maintained and in proper working order.Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.Performs other related duties as assigned.All other duties assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred Successful completion of an apprentice program or experience in the field recommendedMold building and machining experience required. CNC operating and programming experience preferred.Common operating systemsSoftware proficiencyTechnical writing
KNOWLEDGEAdvanced troubleshooting skillsUnderstanding of safety and equipment proceduresOverhead hoist operation and safety regulations required for mold repair and PMsStandard Mold Preventive maintenance and repairs.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES Excellent verbal and written communication Strong analytical and problem-solving Operation of Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, and surface grinder. xzbcwsv Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

WORK ENVIRONMENTExposed to work in manufacturing /machining area settings with exposure to oil, coolant, and metal residuesIntermittent exposure to sounds or noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortableRequires long periods of standingAt times, work is completed in a manufacturing facility requiring appropriate protective equipment at all times
PHYSICAL DEMANDSProlonged periods of walking, reaching, crouching, twisting, lifting, pushing, standing and sitting at a desk working on a computerLift and carry a minimum of 45 poundsWear protective eyewear and/or other protective gear correctly
