Our client is a foreign-owned large, global, science-driven business going through a significant transformation, and we've been retained to help them find someone who is ready to take that next step in their career and ready to build and lead the tax team for this US tax function.
There are three things that make this opportunity unique:
1.You get to build.
Rather than inheriting an established department and organizational structure, this person will have the opportunity to build the US tax team from the ground up and have a meaningful voice in how the function operates.
2. The technical work is interesting.
We need someone with broad-based corporate tax experience, but there will be a particular emphasis on tax research, planning and complex technical issues. This is not simply a compliance-management position.
3. The location is a plus.
The role is based in a growing and attractive Southeast market that offers a very different cost of living than many of the traditional corporate tax hubs.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, approximately three days per week in the office.
This position requires:15+ years of progressive corporate tax experience.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field. CPA, JD, LLM, and/or MST preferred.Strong technical background in U.S. federal taxation, ASC 740, tax planning, compliance, transfer pricing, and tax controversy.Experience advising on acquisitions, restructurings, investments, and other significant business initiatives.
