GIS Application Developer

Job Location: Kolkata Role Description The GIS Application Developer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata. The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain GIS applications and web mapping solutions, integrating spatial data into enterprise systems. The GIS Application Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, improve performance, and ensure that solutions align with security, data integrity, and organizational standards. The role also involves documenting technical specifications, supporting deployments, and contributing to ongoing enhancements of GIS platforms. Qualifications Strong knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and practical experience with spatial data modeling and analysis. Hands-on experience with Web Mapping technologies and building interactive map-based applications. Proficiency in Software Development, including programming languages commonly used for GIS (such as Python, JavaScript, or C#). Working knowledge of ESRI tools and platforms for enterprise GIS solutions. BE/B.Tech/MCA/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with databases, REST APIs, and version control systems (e.g., Git) is preferred. Understanding of network and data security, cloud environments, or Oracle technologies is an added advantage. CTC : 9 LPA
