Title: Staff Application Software Engineer (C++/Robotics)Location: Weston, Fl (Hybrid)Employment: W2 Contract only (NO C2C)Duration: 12 monthsPay rate: $50 to $68per hour
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Staff Application Software Engineer (Contingent Worker/Contractor) who can ramp up quickly, integrate seamlessly with an existing team, and begin delivering production-ready code within the first few weeks.In this role, you will design and implement complex concepts independently for Stryker’s robotic-assisted surgery products. You will work closely with the engineering team and subject matter experts to develop market-leading software that meets customer and system requirements. You will follow defined design practices, including Agile methodology, and use sound software engineering principles to ensure that application software products are safe, robust, and user-friendly.Key ResponsibilitiesQuickly understand existing architecture, codebase, and development workflows.Independently design and develop application software components per defined requirements and architecture, following design principles and coding standards.Collaborate closely with the Project Management team and other engineers to ensure project success as a technical member of the team.Follow defined SDLC procedures to ensure software quality through code review, unit and component testing, code analysis, and defect management.Author software engineering documentation following R&D procedures per the Quality Management System.Clearly communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.4+ years of relevant work experience.Demonstrated proficiency in C++ and Object-Oriented Programming in a production environment.Preferred QualificationsPrior contractor or consulting experience with a proven record of successfully joining teams mid-stream and ramping up quickly.Experience with Qt/QML framework, Linux, and/or Docker. xzbcwsv Demonstrated knowledge of the full SDLC and Agile software development, including tools for:Static and dynamic analysisMemory managementUnit testingCode coverageCI/CDSecurityTask, defect, and requirement managementDemonstrated knowledge of:Linear algebraComputational geometryComputer graphicsSoftware architecture design (design patterns and software modeling)Experience in:Medical imagingImage processingComputer visionAlgorithm developmentComputer-assisted surgeryRoboticsExperience with biomedical software development or software development in a regulated environment.Work ArrangementHybrid3 to 4 days onsite1 to 2 days remote
