Responsibilities:
The Geotechnical Engineer will contribute to a wide range of projects, including commercial and industrial developments, transportation infrastructure, bridges, airports, public works, and environmental redevelopment.The position includes leadership responsibilities within the geotechnical group, along with coordination of construction inspection and testing activities. The selected candidate will work closely with internal teams and serve as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Manage geotechnical projects from proposal through completion, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget expectations are metBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients and project partnersProvide technical oversight, mentorship, and training to engineering and field staffSupport staff coordination across office and field operationsPrepare and review proposals, technical reports, and engineering documentationAssist in developing internal standards, specifications, and proceduresOversee subsurface investigations, including drilling, infiltration testing, and monitoring well installationSupervise construction activities such as earthwork, excavation, dewatering, foundation systems, and load testingCoordinate and manage subcontractors on active project sitesPerform geotechnical analyses related to foundations, retaining structures, pavements, and other infrastructure systemsInterpret subsurface conditions, including geologic and hydrogeologic dataReview and evaluate laboratory testing resultsMaintain accurate and organized project documentation and dataManage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong client communicationParticipate in project meetings, training initiatives, and team collaboration effortsTravel occasionally to regional project sites (typically less than 5%)Work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Location: Greenfield, INSchedule/Shift Details: 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical EngineeringRelevant experience in geotechnical engineeringEngineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with AASHTO and ASTM standardsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, soil logging software, or similar engineering toolsTeam-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills
Work Environment & Requirements:This role is primarily office-based with periodic field visits. Fieldwork may involve lifting up to 50 pounds and working in outdoor environments. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required, along with the ability to operate company vehicles. Candidates must be able to pass pre-employment screening, including a physical, background check, and driving record review.
