Controls Technician

This individual will play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of pilot manufacturing operations by troubleshooting automated equipment, supporting controls systems, and implementing routine PLC and HMI updates. Required Skills & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GEDHands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled industrial or manufacturing equipmentAbility to read and understand PLC ladder logicExperience making and testing PLC or HMI changes in a live production environmentAbility to troubleshoot issues across PLC programs, I/O devices, instrumentation, and operator interfacesAbility to read electrical schematics and controls documentationExperience using electrical troubleshooting tools such as digital multimetersStrong documentation and organizational skillsExperience with wiring, soldering, and electrical troubleshootingMust be a U.S. Person due to access requirements for export-controlled facilities and information
Preferred Skills & ExperienceExperience with Rockwell Studio 5000, RSLogix, or Siemens TIA PortalExperience configuring HMI screens, tags, recipes, and operating parametersFamiliarity with Ignition or other industrial SCADA platformsExperience troubleshooting industrial drives, instrumentation, or control panelsAbility to create and interpret digital electrical schematicsExperience with industrial networking infrastructureComfortable using basic hand and power tools
Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesServe as the first point of support for PLC, HMI, I/O, drive, instrumentation, and industrial communication issuesTroubleshoot and resolve controls-related equipment failures while partnering with engineers, technicians, and equipment vendorsImplement and validate routine PLC xzbcwsv logic, HMI screen, recipe, tag, and parameter updatesTest system changes in production environments to ensure equipment reliability and operational effectivenessDocument control system modifications, approvals, testing results, and software revisions to maintain accurate recordsReview electrical drawings, schematics, and controls documentation to support troubleshooting effortsUpdate I/O lists and controls documentation following approved changesCoordinate maintenance and change windows with production and engineering teamsSupport electrical technicians with code-level troubleshooting and controls diagnosticsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, performance, and traceability
