Surgical Nurse

Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a multispecialty outpatient surgical team in West Orange, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in perioperative nursing, excellent clinical assessment skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons and other healthcare professionals.

Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to patients before and during surgical procedures.Prepare operating rooms, patients, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.Assist surgeons and other clinical professionals throughout procedures.Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention and patient safety protocols.Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to clinical changes.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and surgical staff to ensure efficient patient care.Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Required QualificationsGraduate of an accredited nursing program.Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.Minimum of 2 years of operating room nursing experience.Current BLS and ACLS certifications.Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and surgical procedures.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary surgical environment.Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical assessment skills.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in gynecological (GYN) surgical procedures.Previous experience in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery center.Multispecialty surgical nursing experience.
ScheduleMonday–Friday 7:00/7:30am-3:00p/4:00pm, rotating weekends
