We are committed to delivering dependable service, maintaining safe environments, and building lasting relationships with our clients and employees.We Protect With Purpose.Position OverviewQFS Security & Concierge is seeking qualified and dependable Fire & Life Safety Directors (FLSD) holding FDNY F-89 or T-89 credentials to support our expanding security operations throughout New York City.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of FDNY fire and life safety requirements, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage emergency situations professionally and effectively.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and operate building fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with FDNY requirements.Implement and maintain approved fire safety and emergency action procedures.Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, evacuations, and other building emergencies.Coordinate emergency response activities with FDNY, NYPD, EMS, building management, and security personnel.Conduct required fire drills, emergency preparedness exercises, and safety inspections.Maintain accurate fire safety logbooks, incident reports, inspection records, and other required documentation.Provide guidance and direction to building security personnel during emergencies.Identify and report fire safety hazards, equipment deficiencies, and potential compliance concerns.Communicate effectively with building management, residents, visitors, and QFS operations leadership.Maintain a professional presence and ensure compliance with applicable FDNY regulations and site-specific post orders.Qualifications & RequirementsFDNY F-89 or T-89 Certificate of Fitness required, with authorization to perform FLSD duties at the assigned location.Valid NYS Security Guard Registration Card when required for assigned security duties.Previous experience in fire and life safety, building security, or emergency management preferred.Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, evacuation procedures, and emergency response protocols.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional under pressure.Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.Reliable attendance, punctuality, and professional appearance.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with on-site personnel and management.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensation in accordance with applicable NYC prevailing-wage requirements.Starting base wage of $23.99 per hour for qualifying new hires at Class C locations through December 31, 2026.Applicable supplemental benefits in addition to the base wage.Paid time off and holidays in accordance with applicable requirements.Opportunities for professional development and advancement within QFS Security & Concierge.Join Our TeamAt QFS, we recognize that effective fire and life safety operations require more than certifications.
