Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Oracle APEX Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX), SQL, and PL/SQL. The ideal candidate will have strong application development and integration skills, a solid understanding of Oracle databases, and the ability to work independently in a client-facing environment. This role requires full-time onsite engagement at the client's location for a period of one year.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Oracle APEX applications, including interactive reports, interactive grids, forms, dynamic actions, and automated workflows.
• Develop and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, cursors, and collections, implementing effective exception handling.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries using joins, analytical functions, and performance‑tuning techniques.
• Apply Oracle database fundamentals, including schema design, indexing, constraints, and data integrity management.
• Integrate APEX applications with external systems through SOAP and REST web services, supporting seamless data exchange with insurance, banking, ERP, and other enterprise systems.
• Implement APEX security measures, including authentication schemes, authorization controls, and session state management.
• Develop and maintain reports and document outputs in PDF and Excel formats using BI Publisher or Oracle APEX native printing capabilities.
• Troubleshoot application issues, perform debugging, and resolve technical problems to ensure application stability and performance.
• Collaborate directly with clients and relevant stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical solutions, and deliver application enhancements.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client requirements.

Skills & Knowledge

• Hands‑on experience developing and maintaining applications using Oracle APEX.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
• Experience with Oracle database design, schema management, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Practical experience integrating applications with external systems using SOAP and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Oracle APEX security, authentication, authorization, and session management.
• Experience generating PDF and Excel reports using BI Publisher or native APEX reporting features.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills for client‑facing engagements.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in an onsite client environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Oracle APEX application development and Oracle database programming.
• Willingness to work full-time onsite at the client's location for the entire one‑year engagement.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact directly with clients.
• Ability to manage assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in insurance, banking, or financial services.
• Familiarity with Oracle Forms and Reports, particularly in legacy enterprise environments.
• Exposure to Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
