Overview:

We are looking for a Senior AI Application Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in API development using Python and Node.js, along with strong experience in Generative AI, cloud computing, DevOps, and systems administration.The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure RESTful and SOAP APIs, while contributing to the development and deployment of GenAI applications.The role requires strong knowledge of AI, preferably Azure OpenAI, along with experience working with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD, API security, and observability tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and deploy RESTful and SOAP APIs using Python and Node.js.

• Develop, test, and deploy technologies and applications related to Generative AI (GenAI).
• Apply strong AI knowledge, with Azure OpenAI experience preferred.
• Implement unit test cases for APIs, API components, and common libraries.
• Ensure API code quality and implement secure, vulnerability-free API solutions.
• Maintain API codebases and related artifacts in repositories such as Git and Nexus.
• Deploy APIs to AWS EKS clusters.
• Work extensively with Amazon Web Services (AWS/Outposts) and Microsoft Azure Cloud.
• Contribute to DevOps implementation, cloud computing, and cloud migration initiatives.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products and services.
• Document and maintain API specifications and standards using tools such as Swagger and Postman.
• Continuously monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize API performance and availability.
• Utilize observability and monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and ELK.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies and trends related to API development and implementation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of DevOps practices, processes, and engineering standards.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and share technical knowledge and best practices.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in API development.
• Strong programming experience with Python and Node.js.
• Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• Strong knowledge of AI / Generative AI; Azure OpenAI experience is preferred.
• Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud environments.
• Experience deploying applications/APIs on AWS EKS.
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD.
• Experience with Git and Nexus or similar repository/artifact management platforms.
• Experience with API testing and unit testing.
• Experience with Swagger and Postman.
• Knowledge of API security and secure coding practices.
• Experience with application/API monitoring and observability tools such as AppDynamics and ELK.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
