Senior Strategic Pricing Analyst

Position OverviewOur client, a prestigious and top-ranked AmLaw firm, is seeking a Senior Strategic Pricing Analyst to join its pricing and revenue strategy team in New York. This role partners directly with firm partners and practice leaders to shape pricing strategy, structure complex fee arrangements and Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFAs), and deliver data-driven insights that influence firmwide decisions. You’ll coordinate across departments to prepare pricing responses for RFPs, drive process improvement initiatives, and use AI tools to automate and modernize how the pricing function works. This is a highly visible role working directly with partners and clients.

ResponsibilitiesPartner closely with attorneys to understand the legal work being priced, and provide strategic guidance on pricing decisionsDevelop and deploy financial models that evaluate a range of pricing scenarios, and advise on the fee structures that drive profitabilityDraft fee proposals, advise partners on strategy, and help present proposals to clientsPrepare cost estimates for prospective and existing matters across litigation, regulatory, and transactional practicesCoordinate with multiple departments to gather data and insights, and prepare pricing and financial responses for RFPsStructure and evaluate complex fee arrangements and AFAs, and maintain the firm’s AFA database to ensure accuracyPartner with billing and finance teams to implement AFAs in compliance with client billing agreementsBuild and maintain financial models to support budgets and matter forecastsMonitor matter performance against budgets, identify areas for improvement, and forecast outcomesConduct profitability, realization, and variance analysis to identify trends and optimize pricing performanceTrack market trends and competitor pricing, and recommend adjustments to the firm’s pricing modelsLead process improvement projects that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across the pricing functionIdentify and implement opportunities to automate workflows using AI toolsDevelop dashboards and reporting in Power BI, and leverage Aderant data to deliver actionable insights to leadership and practice groupsPresent findings and xzbcwsv recommendations to partners, firm leadership, clients, and other senior stakeholders
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field5+ years of relevant work experience in a law firm or professional services environmentSignificant experience in legal pricing and financial analysis requiredStrong financial modeling skills required; RFP experience preferredExperience leading process improvement initiatives and using AI to automate manual tasks preferredAdvanced Excel skills required; proficiency in Power BI and Aderant or Elite (3E) preferredStrong communication skills and executive presence, with the confidence to work directly with partners
