Role OverviewThe Odoo ERP Technical Designer owns BBF's Odoo 19 Enterprise environment day-to-day—spanning Finance, Procurement, Inventory, Manufacturing, HR, and Projects—along with custom extensions and a Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse used for consolidated reporting.
This is a hybrid functional-and-technical role. The person in this seat moves between configuration, support, and hands-on development within Odoo without handing off to someone else, and is comfortable working directly against the database when the interface isn't enough.
This role is a key link between BBF's business processes and the Odoo systems that run them—ensuring that finance, operations, and project data stay accurate, connected, and reliable as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities1. ERP Support & AdministrationSupport and troubleshoot Odoo across Finance, Procurement, Inventory, Manufacturing, HR, and ProjectsMaintain security configurations, including groups, record rules, and implied_idsManage user access, permissions, and overall system health
2. Custom DevelopmentBuild and maintain custom modules using Python, XML, and OWLExtend Odoo functionality to meet BBF-specific business requirementsMaintain code using Git version control, including branching and code review workflows
3. Financial & Project Systems ConfigurationMaintain analytic accounting structures and project costing flows in OdooSupport accurate job-cost visibility for project and finance teamsDiagnose issues directly against PostgreSQL when the UI isn't sufficient
4. Manufacturing Rollout SupportSupport BBF's Phase 2 manufacturing rollout, including BoMs, routings, and work centersConfigure and maintain mold tracking functionalityPartner with manufacturing and operations teams to align the system with shop floor processes
5. Reporting & Data InfrastructureBuild and maintain the Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse for consolidated reportingKeep Lakehouse data reconciled and consistent with OdooSupport reporting needs for department and leadership teams
6. System Documentation & Continuous ImprovementMaintain documentation for configurations, custom modules, and workflowsIdentify opportunities to improve system efficiency and user experienceStay current on Odoo upgrades (v16–19) and evaluate the impact of new releases
7. Issue Identification & Risk ManagementProactively identify potential system and data risksEscalate issues early to prevent impact on operations or reportingSupport resolution through coordination and follow-through
