Overview Sonographer / Ultrasound Tech in the specialty of Sonography, based in San Luis Obispo, California, United States. This is a travel - temporary assignment starting August 31, 2026 for an eight-week contract with guaranteed hours. Weekly pay ranges from $2,358 to $2,503 per week. The position features a 3x12-hour day shift and requires on-call responsibilities. The clinical setting is a short-term acute care hospital. Key Highlights

- Perform cardiovascular and non-invasive imaging procedures, including M-Mode with calculations, 2-D studies with all required views, and Doppler echo with analysis
- Obtain and interpret data across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients; tailor imaging and interpretation to age-specific needs
- Conduct peripheral vascular studies (arterial and venous Doppler, segmental pressures, ankle-brachial index, carotid ultrasound) as indicated
- Perform tilt-table exams, treadmill testing, 24-hour Holter monitoring, and pharmacologic studies when required
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cardiovascular techniques and equipment; document findings accurately and completely
- Precept new staff and mentor other team members as needed; collaborate with physicians and the care team to support patient care
- Licenses/Certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) required; Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) required; Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) required; ARDMS-RCS or CCI-RCS or RDCS certification required; RVT or CCI-RVS certification required; Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification required or preferred; Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved vendor required
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience as a cardiac ultrasound sonographer; preferred experience in vascular sonography, pediatric cardiac sonography, and fetal echocardiography (two years vascular and/or pediatric experience preferred; one year fetal echo experience preferred)
- Skills: Proficiency in performing M-Mode, 2-D, and Doppler echocardiography across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients; ability to perform peripheral vascular imaging and related studies
- Setting: Ability to work in a travel assignment within a short-term acute care hospital; capable of handling on-call responsibilities and a 3x12-hour day shift
