Phlebotomist-Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center-Full Time: Mon-Fri 3PM-11PM

Under the supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, the Phlebotomist ensures accurate specimen collection, labeling, and handling. They maintain a clean environment, support patient comfort and safety, and help educate and reassure patients during procedures. • Specimen Collection: Accurately interprets provider test orders and follows approved standard operating procedures for all specimen collections. • Specimen Accessioning: Accurately uses the HIS and LIS for patient registration and test order entry. • Specimen Processing: o Evaluates provider test orders and collected specimens for acceptability and determines rejections according to established guidelines. o Accurately labels aliquot samples as required. o Recognizes and corrects defects before they are passed on to the next step of the process. • Computer: Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of the HIS and LIS software systems in all job-related functions.

• Team Member Training: Assists with training of team members and students.

by ensuring comfort during specimen collection, addressing concerns with empathy, and maintaining a professional, respectful demeanor to enhance the overall patient experience.
