Job Description

Join a multi-billion-dollar, publicly traded global manufacturer with a significant U.S. presence and operations across multiple international markets. The company is in an exciting period of growth, investment and modernization, creating strong exposure to a complex, global business while still offering the stability of an established industry leader.

This Staff Internal Auditor role is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to move beyond traditional public accounting and gain broader business exposure. You’ll work across SOX, financial, operational and compliance audits, partner with different areas of the organization, and gain visibility into how a large public company operates. The team is known for strong work-life balance, and there is a real track record of promoting from within—this opening was created by the current Staff Auditor being promoted to Senior. Longer term, leadership is also supportive of employees rotating out of Internal Audit and into other areas of the business, making this a strong launching point for someone looking to build a long-term corporate career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform audit and review activities across financial, operational, compliance, and business processes.
  • Assist with engagement planning, risk assessment, and development of audit procedures.
  • Test controls, transactions, and processes to evaluate effectiveness and identify gaps.
  • Interview employees and process owners to understand business activities and control environments.
  • Analyze financial and operational information to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate and well-supported audit documentation and work papers.
  • Assist with communicating audit observations, risks, and recommendations to management.
  • Work with business partners to develop practical corrective actions and monitor resolution.
  • Participate in organizational risk assessments and audit planning activities.
  • Support special projects, process reviews, and other assignments as needed.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and subject-matter specialists when appropriate.
  • Stay current on auditing practices, accounting principles, internal controls, and relevant regulatory developments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in internal audit, public accounting, financial analysis, compliance, or a related area.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, auditing practices, and internal control concepts.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
