The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides and coordinates care for patients with urgent and emergent conditions in a 23‑bed community hospital ED. Using the nursing process and evidence-based practice, this role triages patients, administers treatments and medications, monitors status, and supports safe transfers when higher-level care is needed. The RN collaborates with physicians and the care team to ensure safe, timely, and compassionate care for diverse patients across all acuity levels.
