Job Purpose

The position of Senior Architect is responsible for the design and its development into architectural and detail design also ensure that these designs are understood by clients and or contractors and are easy to replicate at the site

Key Result Areas

Concept development: Develop designs within the timeline as received from the Design Manager; ensure concepts idea are not ambiguous and rejection level should not be more than 1 revision. Design Fee Proposal: prepare techno-commercial proposals; ensure proper costing and that a margin of 30% is achieved for all proposal developed. Drawings/Documentation/Specs: proper planning of tasks and create shop drawings, specs, and design document within the timeline as received by Assistant Design Manager. Project/Cost monitoring: effectively monitor project cost to achieve profit target for each project by liaising with Finance Manager, Controls to ensure resource utilization, material and manpower is as per approved project budget v/s proposal.

Key Deliverables

Design /Concept development

Provide high quality, innovative & functional architectural and interior designs. Follow architectural/interior design trends and advancements. Discuss with Design Manager on the design direction & strategy. Ensure completeness and quality of the output from design teams. Use the programme "brief" to identify clients' needs and put together feasibility reports and design proposals under the guidance of the Assistant Design Manager. Prepare design concepts and supervise the activities of architectural/Interior design teams to ensure proper interpretation of project briefs and client requirements. Ensure that the Interior/architectural design teams incorporate the requirements of structural and MEP design of client's building. Present Interior/architectural designs to Client as well as appropriate regulatory authorities for approval as required.

Bidding / Design Fee Proposal

Upon receiving inquiry, generate project number. Attend intro/kick-off meetings. Understand company background, current business. Discuss ideas, objectives, understand clients' requirements, initial briefing, initial scope of work, overall budget etc. Visit site together with Design Manager/ Project Architect as required. Obtain design schedule from Design Manager and ensure adherence.

Design/Concept Creation

Develop ideas keeping in mind client's needs, building's usage and environmental impact. Prepare concept layout based on zoning layout or percentages provided by clients under the guidance of the Design Manager. Prepare mood board/ sketches/ ideas/ presentation in discussion with Design Manager based on Clients brief. Attend client presentation with the design manager as required. Evolve first draft concept design/ adopt principle concept design in discussion with Design Manager. Review and coordinate with 3 D Team the test renderings and visualizations and client presentation under the guidance of Assistant Design Manager

Drawings / Documentation / Specs

Identify and specify the actual materials that are being proposed in design during the concept development stage and to get the same reviewed by Assistant Design Manager. Prepare lighting spec sheet and material specification sheet after sign off on the concept design. Prepare the concept presentation to Client along with material spec sheet, mood board, GA layout, final concept sketches and renders. Check the MEP set of drawings along with Head – Drawing Documentation and Project Architect. Review the Final set of drawing and sign off along with Head- Drawing Documentation, Design Manager and Project Architect. Prepare the design summary package and handover to Head – Drawing Documentation / Project Architect for the overall drawing documentation of the project. Develop the schematic and final set of drawings as required by the Project team

Project / Cost monitoring

Make joinery inspection in the workshop along with Project Architect under the guidance of Design Manager. Record RFMs & take sign off if there are any revisions before starting the work. Ensure prompt filling and submitting of time sheets by Design Staff Provide details for Project reconciliation.

Position Competencies:

Technical Competencies

§ B. Arch. (Bachelor of Architecture) qualifications with minimum 5-6 years of experience.

§ Proven post qualification experience in producing high quality architectural/interior still images and animations.

§ Experience in the use of Sketch Up, 3 D Max, Rhino, Lumion, Photoshop, Auto CAD and any other graphics or rendering software is essential

§ Fully conversant in using and creating modeling from architectural plans, sketches and elevations, and knowledge of related visualization and photorealistic rendering techniques

§ Experience with animation, video, and compositing would be beneficial
