Building Maintenance Technician I

<p>The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the integral ongoing maintenance and repair of our retail buildings. They are heavily involved in supporting the safe, smooth, and successful day-to-day operations of the store. Duties can vary from day to day and are assigned via a Help Desk platform or at the request of management. The Building Maintenance Technician needs to have a good knowledge of skills including HVAC, plumbing, drywall installation, electrical, painting, and general building repair. They also will need to be adept at using a variety of hand and electrical tools. Experience in construction, and building maintenance, and a degree or certification from a technical school will be beneficial in this role. Pay Rate: $21+ (Depends on Experience) <h2>RESPONSIBILITIES</h2> <ul><li>Perform and ensure that all work orders are completed in the time allotted.</li><li>Assist with rehabilitation of building within specified turnaround</li></ul> guidelines, including proficiency of specialty projects, i.e. drywall, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc. <ul><li>Perform preventive maintenance and inspection of building.</li><li>Assist managers in daily duties, including correspondence with staff,</li></ul> customers, and vendors. * Ensure the property is maintained and in acceptable condition including interiors, exteriors, and landscaping. <ul><li>Stock and maintain shop area as needed.</li><li>Plans maintenance-related projects and oversee the completion</li><li>Resolves issues and answers questions related to work methods /processes</li><li>Schedules and performs repair tasks, including preventative and general</li></ul> maintenance <ul><li>Completes related documentation</li><li>Inspects and maintains tools and equipment to ensure proper working order</li><li>May drive on company business</li><li>Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment</li><li>Prepare and submit all required reports and activities in a timely and</li></ul> accurate manner. <ul><li>Adhere to policies and procedures.</li><li>Requisition supplies and equipment needed for maintenance duties.</li><li>Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the ability to use</li></ul> personal protective equipment (PPE). * Knowledge of blood-borne pathogens (BBP) and the ability to safely clean blood-borne pathogens (BBP). * Various other job duties as asked by supervisor. <h2>COMPETENCIES/SKILLS</h2> * Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required. <ul><li>Ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced team environment.</li><li>Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing</li></ul> environment. <ul><li>Organization and attention to detail</li><li>High energy Level</li><li>Persistence</li></ul> <h2>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS</h2> <ul><li>2-4 years of previous building maintenance experience</li><li>Valid driver's license and ability to be insured to drive a company vehicle</li><li>Previous safety training and/or building maintenance-related certifications</li></ul> <h2>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</h2> <ul><li>Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time</li><li>Ability to perform repetitive tasks, manual dexterity</li><li>Vision abilities required include close, distance, and depth perception</li><li>Lifting 100 pounds</li><li>Ability to walk a long distance on hard surfaces</li><li>Ability to work under fluorescent lighting</li><li>Climate is affected by outside conditions.</li><li>Considerable exterior noise</li></ul> Pay: Minimum starting rate is $18.
