About the OpportunityA rapidly growing commercial general contractor is looking to add an experienced Project Manager to its Midwest team. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned construction professional who wants to take ownership of projects with an established contractor that has expanded its footprint nationally while continuing to invest heavily in its people and operations.The company has built a strong reputation across retail, healthcare, hospitality, corporate, industrial, and commercial construction, with experience ranging from ground-up construction and site development to complex renovations and interior buildouts.This position will have significant responsibility for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while working closely with owners, architects, subcontractors, superintendents, and internal leadership.
ResponsibilitiesManage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeoutTake ownership of project budget, schedule, contracts, quality, and overall executionReview plans, specifications, scopes, and contract documents for accuracy and completenessDevelop and maintain project schedules and budgetsCoordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and vendorsLead project meetings and maintain clear communication with all project stakeholdersManage subcontractor buyout, scopes of work, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and pay applicationsMonitor project costs and identify potential budget or schedule issues before they become problemsPartner closely with the Superintendent to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality expectationsReview and negotiate subcontractor proposals and change ordersMaintain accurate project documentation and recordsAssist with preconstruction, estimating, value engineering, and constructability reviews when neededMaintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycleEnsure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standardsParticipate in project turnover and closeout activities
Qualifications8+ years of commercial construction experienceProven experience managing projects as a Project Manager or Senior Project ManagerStrong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, and project controlsExperience with ground-up construction, renovations, tenant improvements, or commercial buildoutsAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlinesStrong financial xzbcwsv and contract management skillsExcellent communication and leadership abilitiesComfortable working directly with owners, clients, architects, subcontractors, and field personnelProficiency with construction management software and Microsoft OfficeConstruction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred but not required
