About the Role
We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Business Development (Japan) to drive T-Hub's commercial growth in the Japanese market. The role will focus on building enterprise partnerships, expanding institutional relationships, and driving revenue through innovation programs, startup engagements, corporate collaborations, and international partnerships.
Working closely with the APAC & ANZ Business Unit and our in-market Japan representative, you will own the end-to-end business development lifecycle—from identifying opportunities and developing proposals to negotiating and closing strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business development and revenue growth across the Japan market.
- Build and manage relationships with Japanese corporates, universities, government agencies, and ecosystem partners.
- Own the complete sales lifecycle including lead generation, proposal development, negotiations, and deal closure.
- Develop commercial opportunities across Corporate Innovation, International Market Access Programs (IMAP), Innovation Programs, Solution Accelerators, and other T-Hub offerings.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline, forecast accurately, and ensure CRM hygiene.
- Collaborate with pre-sales, delivery, marketing, and leadership teams for seamless execution.
What We're Looking For
- 4–7 years of experience in Business Development, Enterprise Sales, International Partnerships, or Key Account Management.
- Experience working with Japanese enterprises, trade bodies, universities, or innovation ecosystems is highly preferred.
- Strong consultative selling, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent proposal writing and presentation capabilities.
- Japanese language proficiency is an advantage but not mandatory.
