Position: Junior Executive – IDT
Location: Jajpur, Odisha
Experience: 3 to 5 Years
Education: Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline from a recognized university with CA‑Inter, CMA‑Inter, M. Com, or a certification in GST / Indirect Taxation shall be an added advantage.
A Junior GST Executive is an intermediate‑level position that provides functional support to senior personnel in the discharge of Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance and statutory obligations. The role is designed to build foundational competence in GST laws, procedures, and reporting requirements, thereby serving as a structured progression path within the indirect taxation function. Through the acquisition of practical experience and technical proficiency, incumbents may advance to senior roles or pursue recognized professional certifications in GST and indirect taxation
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation, validation, and filing of GST returns (including GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B and other applicable statements) within prescribed timelines, under supervision.
- Data collation, reconciliation, and verification required for accurate return filing and statutory reporting.
- Assist senior team members in responding to GST audits, departmental inquiries, and internal audits, including compilation of records and supporting documentation.
- Facilitate timely submission of invoices, e‑waybills, ITC records, job work details, and other GST‑related documents for audit purposes.
- Help track and close audit observations, information requests, and compliance follow‑ups, as directed by senior personnel.
- Communicate effectively and coordinate with internal departments including Sales, Logistics, and Customer Service, as well as with external partners, to support GST‑related processes.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and well‑organized export documentation records in compliance with statutory and organizational requirements.
- Perform reconciliation of tax invoices with system and accounting records to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Liaise with vendors and customers to obtain, verify, and resolve GST‑related information and discrepancies in a timely manner.
Nice to Have:
- Prior exposure to GST return filing, ITC reconciliation, e‑waybills, job work compliance, or audit support activities Experience in a manufacturing or export‑oriented organization shall be an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP) and GST compliance tools.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/GST compliance systems, commensurate with the role requirements.
