Job Description
Gaysi Family, founded in 2008, is a media platform and community space for queer desis, amplifying individual voices and experiences from Southeast Asia. We encourage reflection and understanding of queerness as a philosophy and sensibility beyond sexual orientations and gender identities. At Gaysi we collaborate with brands and organizations to create gender- expansive and queer-affirmative media assets and events.
Gaysi Family also functions as a creative agency partner for other brands, where we design messaging, and full creative campaigns to drive partner brand awareness and visibility.
As a Junior Graphic Designer, you’ll be joining a small, passionate, and queer-led team that values lived experience just as much as design chops. From shaping visual identities for LGBTQ+ initiatives to collaborating on feminist zines to creating content inspired by desi pop culture—we work on a little bit of everything, and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to jump in, heart-first. Must be based in Mumbai, ideally in the suburbs.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Designing assets for social media, brand collaterals, editorial layouts, web design, and beyond
• Creating visuals that align with brand identities while bringing your own flavour and fresh perspective
• Brainstorming, moodboarding, and building concepts with the team
• Supporting branding projects with logo design, visual systems, and identity development
• Collaborating closely with content creators, writers, and other designers
• Ensuring design consistency and quality across everything we put out
What We’re Looking For
• 1+ years of graphic design experience in a studio, agency, or similar creative environment
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• A strong portfolio that shows your range across branding, social media, editorial, and web assets
• A solid understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy
• Strong time management and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
• Openness to feedback, and a collaborative, can-do attitude
• Based in Mumbai (preferably in the suburbs); this is a full-time, on-site role
Even Better If You Know
• Experience with Figma or similar design tools
• Basic skills in video editing or motion graphics
• Comfort with illustration, doodling, or visual storytelling
• An interest in working on projects rooted in culture, identity, activism, or community
Location: On-site (Khar West, Mumbai)
Compensation: 3.5Lacs-4Lacs (annual)
