<p>Engineer - Transmission Reliability – Multiple FE Locations

About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of
FirstEnergy Corp. [FEU].
This position can be located anywhere in the FE territory.
This position is responsible for analyzing transmission system reliability
performance data and determining root causes of transmission system reliability
issues. This position is also accountable for determining solutions to resolve
transmission system reliability issues, and coordinating / championing those
solutions through implementation.
<b>Responsibilities include:</b>
* Initiating actions to collect data and information required for transmission
system reliability analysis
* Organizing transmission reliability data to facilitate analysis of
transmission system reliability
* Performing formal and rigorous analysis to determine the cause(s) of
transmission system events
* Performing statistical analyses of transmission reliability data to identify
the primary drivers adversely impacting transmission system reliability
* Developing and maintaining metrics demonstrating how FE transmission system
reliability compares to applicable industry standards
* Recommending management, target levels of FE transmission system reliability
performance relative to industry norms
* Working with Planning & Protection, Engineering and others to identify
options with recommendations for projects and initiatives to improve FE
transmission system reliability
* Coordinating and championing transmission system reliability improvement
projects through to inclusion in transmission portfolio
* Developing and making presentations to leadership on status updates and/or
project justifications
* Championing and coordinating transmission reliability improvement initiatives
through to conclusion
* Serving as the lead and focal point for the transmission system reliability
program across FEU
* Championing and coordinating transmission reliability improvement initiatives
through to conclusion
* Supporting the emergency plan through participation in assigned storm duties
including hazard responding and/or dispatch
<b>Qualifications include:</b>
* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
is required. In lieu of a degree, a Professional Engineer’s (PE) License is
required.
</p><ul><li>A Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certificate is preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 3 (three) years of Engineering experience is required.</li><li>A working knowledge of electrical engineering, transmission substation</li></ul>
equipment, transmission system protection and transmission system operations
are desired
* Prior experience with root cause analysis, Six Sigma and / or statistical
analysis is desired
* Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent
verbal and written communication skills
* Must possess the ability to continue to learn and grow, work across
FirstEnergy, and deliver results

FirstEnergy takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on
your location. In addition, your actual base salary will depend on various
factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience.
The estimated pay range for this role is $84,150- $145,800. The pay range for
certain locations, including the state of New Jersey, include a 20% differential
to account for an increased cost of living, making the pay range $118,800-
$174,960.
