Responsibilities
Develop rugged, innovative products used by Special Forces and Coalition Militaries around the globeEngineer solutions that balance functionality, manufacturability, and durability for extreme environments.Iteratively explore concept ideas through visualization and physical interactions while collaborating with the design team using sketching, digital illustration, 3D CAD and renderings, hand-built physical mock-ups, and 3D printsRefine concept designs into 3D parametric CAD, including the definition of part break-up with consideration for manufacturing and assemblyPerform engineering tasks and assignments independently and at the direction of senior engineersCollaborate on all new product development activities to generate innovative concepts and solutions for product fit, form and function.Research, understand, and ensure that the product and its associated mechanical components meets relevant safety and compliance standardsPlan, execute and document engineering validation testsTroubleshoot product and manufacturing defects to determine root cause of failuresCreate and maintain Product Documentation such as assembly instructions, drawings, databases, Engineering Change Orders, etc.Design lower complexity components and systems independently, and higher complexity components and systems with limited supervision
Qualifications
3-5+ years of product development and manufacturing experience, with experience of the product development process of idea generation through concept development and testingPossess a solid background in the design of mechanical components and systems using modern MCAD software. Creo experience highly preferred. xzbcwsv Strong experience designing plastic parts for high volume injection moldingA deep understanding of fundamental mechanical and design principlesA demonstrated history of accountability and performance delivery to meet or exceed objectivesBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing EngineeringMust be a US citizen or US permanent resident
Required Skills
Knowledge of a range of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, low pressure overmolding, CNC machining, metal stampings, etc.Familiarity with cable harness design is strongly desiredExperience with MIL-STD-461 and designing electro-mechanical products for high EMI environments is preferredExperience designing soft goods for tactical applicationsCompetence with hand and shop toolsSelf-motivated and able to work under limited supervisionStrong problem solving skills and attention to detail
