Accounts Payable Specialist

SHR Talent is partnering with a client in Nashville, TN in its search for an Accounts Payable Specialist. Our client is a growing construction-focused organization. The Accounts Payable Specialist is a high-impact role supporting a fast-paced environment processing approximately 50 invoices per day. The ideal candidate for the Accounts Payable Specialist position will bring prior construction industry experience and a strong understanding of contract-driven billing cycles, lien waivers, and project-based payment structures. The Accounts Payable Specialist role offers strong visibility, ownership, and the opportunity to become a key contributor on a growing team.

Responsibilities:Process high volume invoices daily with accuracy and urgencyReview and reconcile invoices against construction contracts and project milestonesUnderstand contract terms to ensure proper billing timing and approvalsManage vendor communication and follow-up on discrepanciesMonitor invoice aging and proactively resolve issuesCoordinate internally with project managers and accounting teamMaintain organized documentation for audit and compliance purposesAssist with month-end close support as needed
Qualifications:3+ xzbcwsv years of Accounts Payable experienceConstruction industry experience, requiredStrong understanding of contract-based billing cyclesExperience reviewing invoices tied to project milestonesHigh level of professionalism and follow-throughDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsComfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environmentStrong communication skills
