Position Summary
The CAAS Accountant delivers accurate, timely outsourced accounting and financial reporting services to GBQ clients. This role performs core accounting activities while building a practical understanding of each client’s business, financial operations, and reporting needs. The position provides a foundation for growth in accounting, client service, technology, analysis, and advisory support. Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting · Perform assigned general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. · Complete month-end and year-end close procedures accurately and on schedule. · Prepare financial statements, management reports, supporting schedules, and workpapers. · Research discrepancies and escalate accounting issues when appropriate. · Support applicable accounting and financial compliance activities.
Client Service & Accountability · Build an understanding of each client’s business, accounting processes, and reporting requirements. · Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and deliver accurate, complete, and timely work. · Communicate proactively about open items, deadlines, and emerging issues. · Maintain organized documentation and follow established CAAS processes and quality standards. · Develop professional, responsive relationships with clients and internal engagement teams.
Technology & Process Improvement · Use QuickBooks, Excel, and other accounting and workflow technologies effectively. · Support system conversions and process improvement initiatives as assigned. · Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of recurring accounting processes. · Adopt evolving technologies and standardized CAAS workflows.
Advisory & Professional Development · Understand the purpose and client value of assigned financial information and deliverables. · Develop the ability to identify unusual activity, trends, risks, and emerging client needs. · Share observations and opportunities for additional support with engagement leadership. · Continuously strengthen accounting, technology, communication, and client-service skills.
