Position OverviewThis is a chance to join a well-capitalized trading firm with Billions in AUM, top-tier technical capabilities, and a track record of strong performance-based compensation. They are seeking an experienced Financial Transmission Right (FTR) trader to focus on trading congestion products across multiple Independent System Operators/Regional Transmission Organizations (ISO/RTOs). The role involves active trading, market research, and the design of trading strategies.
As part of a growing FTR trading team, you will work closely with analysts and experienced traders to evaluate opportunities, manage positions, and test new ideas.
ResponsibilitiesTrade FTRs and related congestion products across multiple ISO/RTO marketsConduct research on power market fundamentals and congestion dynamicsDevelop and implement new trading strategies and risk management approachesMonitor and analyze trades, positions, and portfolio exposuresCollaborate with team members
Qualifications2+ years of experience as an FTR trader or in a closely related roleStrong working knowledge of at least one ISO/RTO marketExperience managing the full lifecycle of a strategy, including risk oversightProficiency in modeling, programming, and quantitative techniquesStrong analytical background, comfortable applying probability and statisticsAbility to make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment
