About the Role
Ask Jules is recruiting on behalf of a young adult and recent university graduate who is looking for a friendly, reliable and like-minded individual to join his Personal Assistant (PA) team.
This is a temporary live-in position from 11th January 2027 to 1st March 2027 , working a 7 days on / 7 days off rota at the family home in Wakefield. You will provide personal care, practical assistance and lifestyle support, helping our client maintain his independence and enjoy an active social life.
Previous care experience is not essential, as full training will be provided in our client's specific care needs.
About our client
Our client recently completed his degree in Games Design at The University of Hull and has now returned to his home in Wakefield. He works from home in his annexed building and is heavily involved with a Powerchair football club in his spare time. He is a full-time wheelchair user with a physical disability, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
His interests include playing computer games, Formula 1 racing, Football and Rugby. In addition, our client enjoys going out and socialising. He also enjoys listening to all different types of music along with Marvel Films.
With a joyful and delightful personality, as well as a good dry sense of humour, our client is looking for PAs who can have a laugh with him but also deal with his care in a discreet manner.
As written by him ...
“I really like gaming though and can spend too long playing and I forget to do anything else. I need someone who will respect my privacy because sometimes I will want to be alone or with friends.
I struggle with weak muscles and tire quite easily compared to my peers. I have limited movement. It is important that you are aware of how to move me correctly (full training will be given) and make sure I don't get too cold. In a crowd I canbecome anxious dueto a few reasons but would need you to make sure nobody falls on me as, due to my condition, I have weak bones which means they can break easily.
I like a good discussion and debate about lots of things, current affairs, politics, conspiracy theories!”
