A well-established, privately held real estate investment and development firm is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its growing accounting team in Charleston, SC.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to build expertise in real estate and fund accounting, gain exposure to multiple investment entities, and work closely with accounting and asset management leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis for assigned properties and fund entities.Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and workpapers for audits, tax filings, lender requirements, and fund reporting.Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and intercompany transactions.Support inter-entity reconciliations and eliminations across property and fund entities.Collaborate with property management, asset management, and operations teams to support accurate and timely financial reporting.Document accounting procedures and help improve workflows and internal processes.Contribute to accounting system enhancements, automation, and process improvement initiatives.Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.
Qualifications1.5–3 years of accounting experience; real estate or fund accounting experience requiredBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple entities, meet deadlines, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience with MRI, Nexus, inBill, or similar accounting platforms is preferred but not required.
