We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer / Architect to provide senior technical leadership across web and mobile engineering initiatives. This is a hands-on role focused on software architecture, development, technical problem-solving, and engineering excellence. The ideal candidate will help define technical direction and deliver scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performing digital applications.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership for complex, high-impact software engineering initiatives.
• Define and evolve application architecture, technical standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Design and develop scalable web, mobile, and backend applications using Java and Node.js.
• Build high-volume digital retail, e-commerce, web, and mobile applications.
• Design and implement serverless and event-driven architectures using Azure Functions / Function Apps.
• Develop and optimize solutions using MariaDB and relational databases.
• Drive application modernization, platform engineering, technical debt reduction, and technology improvements.
• Establish and improve CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, infrastructure automation, and developer productivity practices.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide architectural guidance across engineering teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, security, cloud, and other technical teams to deliver reliable and secure solutions.
• Promote engineering excellence through code quality, performance optimization, scalability, security, and operational best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Node.js.
• Strong software architecture and technical leadership experience.
• Experience building high-volume e-commerce, digital retail, web, or mobile applications.
• Experience with Azure Functions / Function Apps, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with MariaDB or similar relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with application modernization, platform engineering, and technical debt reduction.
• Strong understanding of scalability, performance, security, reliability, and distributed systems.
• Excellent technical problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure cloud services and cloud-native application development.
• Knowledge of microservices, APIs, messaging, and distributed architectures.
• Experience with developer productivity and engineering enablement initiatives.
• Relevant Azure, cloud, or software architecture certifications.
