Mechanical Design Engineer - HVAC

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Pine Brook, New Jersey, in a hybrid work environment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems design for building construction projects.The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in HVAC design, proficiency in AutoCAD, and experience with or knowledge of Revit. Candidates should have a keen interest in building systems engineering and familiarity with applicable New York and New Jersey building codes and standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare mechanical engineering design reports, calculations, equipment sizing, layouts, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.Assist senior engineers with feasibility studies, condition assessments, life cycle assessments (LCA), and MEP design development.Develop conceptual designs and detailed mechanical systems for building projects.Conduct site visits and existing-condition surveys and prepare engineering documentation.Coordinate with architects, other engineering disciplines, contractors, clients, and project stakeholders.Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and construction-phase coordination.Provide engineering support and follow up on projects during construction.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.3+ years of experience in HVAC system design, drafting, or building systems engineering.Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems in building construction environments.Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Revit.Familiarity with New York and New Jersey building codes, construction standards, and regulations.EIT certification or progress toward EIT/PE licensure preferred. xzbcwsv Must have work authorization accepted for this position.
