Junior Architectural designer / architectural assistant

Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Chennai, with the flexibility to perform some tasks from home. The Junior Architectural Designer / Architectural Assistant will support the design team in developing concepts, preparing drawings, and refining architectural details for residential and commercial projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in the creation of design presentations, preparing construction drawings and documentation, and coordinating revisions based on feedback from senior designers and clients. The role involves researching materials and building systems, participating in site visits when needed, and contributing to urban and spatial planning considerations. The team member will also collaborate with consultants, support basic project administration, and ensure that all deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with the studio’s design standards.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to translate concepts into clear spatial solutions.
• Proficiency in preparing Construction Drawings and technical documentation suitable for coordination with consultants and contractors.
• Solid Drawing skills, including hand sketches and digital drafting, to support concept development and design communication.
• Awareness of Urban Planning principles and their impact on site planning, circulation, and context-sensitive design.
• Working knowledge of architectural design software (such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and basic presentation tools.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architecture or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Attention to detail, ability to follow design guidelines, and willingness to learn from feedback and mentorship.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a small team environment, both in-office and remotely.
