Job Summary:
The Civil & Structural Engineering Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and construction documents including BOQ for civil and structural projects.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed civil and structural engineering drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, details, reinforcement drawings, Structural GAD and fabrication drawings. Develop construction drawings based on engineering calculations, sketches, and design inputs. Prepare general arrangement (GA) drawings, foundation layouts, steel structure drawings, and concrete detailing. Produce reinforcement detailing and bar bending schedules (BBS), where required. Revise and update drawings according to engineer comments, client feedback, and project changes. Coordinate with structural engineers, civil engineers, and other project stakeholders. Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and document control records. Assist in quantity take-offs and material estimation from engineering drawings when required. Support site teams by providing drawing clarifications and preparing as-built drawings. Perform quality checks to ensure drawing accuracy, completeness, and consistency before issue. Maintain project documentation and electronic drawing files in accordance with company procedures.
Required Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related technical discipline. Certification in Auto CAD, Revit, Tekla or other drafting software is an advantage.
Experience :
7–10 years of experience in civil and structural drafting. Experience with industrial, or infrastructure projects is preferred. Technical Skills Proficiency in Auto CAD. Working knowledge of Revit Structure, Tekla Structures, or similar BIM software is preferred. Knowledge of structural detailing standards and construction methodologies. Familiarity with reinforced concrete (RC) and structural steel detailing. Understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable design codes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Key Competencies: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to meeting project deadlines. Willingness to learn new software and drafting techniques.
