Job Description
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of commercial facilities. This role supports building operations by troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems while maintaining a high standard of customer service and safety.
Pay: $21.00 - $22.00/ hour.
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicants experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
401(k) You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform preventative maintenance on building equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical issues.
- Complete work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
- Repair doors, locks, walls, ceilings, flooring, fixtures, and other building components.
- Replace filters, belts, bulbs, and other consumable parts as needed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations and service calls.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed repairs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with facility improvement projects and equipment installations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with building occupants, vendors, and management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related experience.
- General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
