Your contributions will make a real difference in the world. In this Manager, Health and Benefits Strategy role, you will manage an assigned portfolio of health and insurance benefits. This role will contribute to health, insurance and wellbeing benefit strategy by evaluating program performance, identifying opportunities to improve effectiveness and cost efficiency and supporting development of recommendations to leadership. We are seeking a highly analytical, resourceful problem solver who can operate independently in a fast-paced environment. This role supports colleague attraction, retention and motivation by ensuring our benefits align with Company and HR objectives. What you will do:
- Manage strategic program oversight for an assigned portfolio of health, insurance and voluntary benefits, primarily in the U.S. and Canada, with flexibility to support multiple areas based on business priorities.
- Evaluate plan, program, and vendor performance using established measures including utilization, engagement, outcomes, service, cost and colleague experience, and recommend actions to improve effectiveness.
- Drive initiatives to strengthen program performance, manage claim trends, optimize costs, improve colleague experience and address emerging issues across the benefits portfolio.
- Develop business cases, benchmarking analyses, and executive-ready recommendations to support benefits decisions and leadership reviews.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (finance, legal, HR, procurement), external consultants, and vendor partners to assess options, support decision-making and coordinate implementation of approved changes.
- Translate approved recommendations into implementation plans and monitor results after launch.
- Coordinate and assess communication and engagement plans for benefit programs.
- Track audits and contribute to broader portfolio reporting and leadership updates.
- At least 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in health and insurance benefits, including program management, vendor management, analysis and development of business recommendations.
- Experience gained in a corporate benefits function, benefits consulting or brokerage firm, insurance carrier, health plan or benefits vendor environment.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify material trends and cost drivers, evaluate assumptions and conclusions and develop data-driven recommendations
- Ability to work effectively with consulting, finance, clinical, legal, benefits operational and other specialists and translate their analyses into practical benefits strategies and tactics
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to connect with all levels of the organization
- Attention to detail, flexibility and ability to prioritize and take initiative
- Intellectual curiosity that drives independent research and analysis
- Proficiency with AI-enabled productivity tools, digital spreadsheet tools and presentation software to analyze data, streamline work and prepare high-quality deliverables
