About the Role

• We're looking for a highly skilled Java Backend Developer/Engineer with strong hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining scalable microservices and data solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• You'll work across backend application development and cloud-native data engineering, collaborating with cross-functional business, analytics, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, high-performance systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Deploy and manage applications on GCP compute services (container orchestration, serverless, or managed app hosting platforms).
• Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and cloud-native data architectures for analytics and business use cases.
• Write clean, testable, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to build and improve CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application and pipeline performance.
• Work with relational, NoSQL, and cloud-native data warehousing services as needed.
• Apply design patterns and software architecture principles to build robust, efficient systems.

Requirements

• 06+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
• Hands-on experience with Hibernate/JPA.
• Strong, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including cloud data warehousing, distributed data processing, and cloud storage services.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and containerization/orchestration.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one additional programming language commonly used for data engineering (e.g., Python or Scala).
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and version control.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice to Have

• Relevant Google Cloud certification (Professional Cloud Developer or Professional Data Engineer).
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools for scheduling data pipelines.
• Familiarity with messaging/streaming systems for event-driven architectures.
• Exposure to gRPC and event-driven architecture patterns.
