Eaton Syalon are currently supporting an established business in Derby with the recruitment of an experienced HR Advisor to join their team on an initial three-month temporary contract, with the potential for a permanent opportunity.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working in a busy, hands-on generalist role and is looking to make a real impact within a supportive and collaborative HR team.
Working closely with the Head of HR and an existing HR Assistant, you will be involved in a broad range of HR activities, from providing first-line employee relations advice through to reviewing policies, supporting recruitment and contributing to ongoing HR projects.
With plenty of projects underway, this position would suit someone who is confident working independently, enjoys variety and can quickly establish themselves within a busy working environment.
The Role
Acting as the first point of contact for general HR queries from employees and line managers.
Providing first-line advice and guidance on employee relations matters.
Supporting the development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Reviewing and updating the employee handbook, ensuring policies remain accurate and compliant.
Completing HR compliance checks and maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems.
Supporting recruitment activity, including preparing job adverts, coordinating recruitment processes and working closely with the HR Assistant.
Providing guidance to managers on HR processes, company policies and best practice.
Supporting a variety of ongoing HR projects and wider people initiatives.
Working collaboratively with the Head of HR to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day HR operations.
About You
We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can confidently step into a busy generalist role and make an immediate impact.
Ideally, you will have:
Previous experience in a hands-on HR Advisor, HR Officer or experienced HR Generalist position.
A good understanding of UK employment law, HR policies and employee relations processes.
Experience providing first-line employee relations advice and supporting managers.
The ability to write, review and update HR policies and procedures.
Strong administration, organisational and HR systems skills.
A proactive, approachable and professional working style.
CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification would be advantageous, although strong practical HR experience is equally important.
Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing, industrial, logistics or similar operational environment would be particularly advantageous, although candidates from other sectors will also be considered.
Availability to start immediately or at short notice.
What's on Offer?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive HR team where you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, contribute to a number of ongoing projects and make a genuine difference.
The position is initially offered on a three-month temporary basis; however, there is potential for the role to become permanent for the right individual as the business reviews its longer-term HR structure. xrexnqw
