Food Service WorkerEducation/Certification: Required: Food Handlers Permit Preferred: High school graduate or GED; able to do simple arithmeticExperience: Required: None Preferred: Knowledge of quantity food preparation and servicePersonal: Required: Knowledge of cooking techniques, procedures, and use and care of kitchen equipment and utensils. Demonstrates good judgment and knowledge of District policies and procedures which support the activities of the DepartmentFunction: Under the supervision of the Food Service Manager, performs assigned functions in food preparation, service and clean up.Reports To: Cafeteria ManagerResponsibilities:Prepare food according to work schedules and standardized recipesSet up serving counter according to steamtable diagramServe food using effective time and motion techniquesWork in dish room scraping, rinsing, racking, and washing trays and silverwareWash and sanitize pots and pansPerform assigned clean-up of kitchen, dish room, and dining room, including equipment and floorsMay assist with record keeping, making bank deposits, or cashiering if assigned. Will be held responsible for all moneys when performing these dutiesAssist in cleaning equipment and preparing leftover food for return to the G.B.A. Food Service Facility or storage at secondary levelLift or carry 1 to 40 lbs. frequently, 41 to 60 lbs. occasionally, with assistance and proper lifting techniqueBend, stoop and reach above shoulder level occasionally, work with machinery frequentlyClimb ladders, stairs, and ramps occasionallyWalk frequently and stand continuouslyAdditional Duties: Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities: Not Applicable.Working Conditions: Mental/Physical Demands and Environmental Factors: Challenging situations; Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.Salary: FOOD/701: $13.15 minimum/hour (individual salary calculation is based on applicable experience)Days: 181
