About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with Australian accounting experience to support our clients across financial reporting, compliance, taxation, and business advisory functions.
This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, analytical, and capable of managing multiple clients while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
At Fig Advisory, you'll become a trusted financial partner to Australian businesses while working alongside a collaborative and high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Manage general ledger reconciliations and journal entries Review and maintain accurate financial records Prepare management reports and financial analysis Assist clients with budgeting and cash flow reportingAustralian Tax & Compliance
Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and payroll tax Prepare workpapers for tax returns and year-end compliance Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and ATO requirements Assist with FBT, GST, and other statutory obligations Liaise with Australian accountants and clients regarding compliance mattersClient & Business Support
Build strong relationships with Australian clients Respond to accounting and financial enquiries professionally Identify opportunities to improve financial processes Assist with audit preparation and documentation Support junior accountants and share technical knowledge where requiredQualifications Skills & Experience
Minimum 3+ years of Australian accounting experience Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance Experience preparing BAS, IAS, GST, and financial statements Proficient in Xero (required) Experience with MYOB or Quick Books is an advantage Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Excellent written and verbal English communication Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independentlyCharacter & Work Ethic
